Stützpunkt XIII M H L – Marine Seezielbatterie ‘Callantsoog’

Seezielbatterie ‘Callantsoog’ was built between beach markers 11 and 12. This navy coastal battery featured four 671 S.K. Schartenstände [casemates], each equipped with a piece of 7.62-cm Russian artillery. In many coastal batteries, this one included, the artillery was first installed in open emplacements. Fire was directed from a M262 “Leitstand für leichte Seezielbatterie” [a control post for light navy batteries]. The crew were housed in several type 501, 621 and 668 shelters and the ammunition was stored in a type FL246 bunker. A bunker (type 612), capable of enfilade fire covering the land in rear of the complex, was built on the northeastern edge. A type FL242 bunker with a gun emplacement for a light AA-gun completed the defenses.

After the war, this battery stood untouched in the first line of dunes, but it was completely removed in the mid-fifties.
