Stützpunkt XIX M – Marine Seezielbatterie ‘Egmond’

Marine Seezielbatterie [navy coastal battery] Egmond was located south of Egmond aan Zee. The battery comprised four 671 S.K. casemates, each with a 10,5-cm cannon. Fire was directed from a type M262 fire control post. Munitions were stored in several thin-walled bunkers. Two type 134 ammunition depots were slated for construction in March of 1945 but they were never realized.

After the war, the bunkers were used as vacation cabins by employees of the Verkade cookie factory. The structures were torn down in the late nineteen-fifties because they caused erosion of the dunes and threatened the embankments.
