Stützpunkt XXII H L – Heeresküstenbatterie ‘Castricum’
A Heeresküstenbatterie [army coastal battery] was built along the coast at Castricum. The battery comprised four 671 S.K. casemates, each with a 10,5-cm cannon. The secondary defense was served by two 7.5-cm cannon installed in two type 612 enfilade fire bunkers. The battery also featured two 3.0-cm anti-aircraft guns. Fire was to have been directed from a M262 “Leitstand für leichte Seezielbatterie” [light coastal battery command post], but this command post was never built. |
