Located between IJmuiden and Stützpunktgruppe [strong point group] Zandvoort was the Freie Küste [clear coast] IJmuiden - Zandvoort. A Freie Küste was a less heavily fortified section of coastline. The Freie Küste can be recognized on this mine field map [Minenkarte] of the Festung IJmuiden. Note the many minefields.
